Two generations of Golf can require different keys. The Volkswagen name alone is therefore insufficient: send the exact model, year and a photograph of any remaining key. For a commercial vehicle, include its version to help identify the request accurately.
Mechanical and electronic references must match. A cut blade may operate a lock without authorising the engine to start. Clarify whether you need emergency access, a complete remote or a compatible hands-free key.
When your Volkswagen still starts with its current key, a spare-key appointment can be prepared ahead of time. State how many working keys remain and which functions operate normally. The vehicle is needed for the agreed checks; a photograph alone cannot produce a ready-to-start replacement.
A cracked case or worn button does not always require replacing the electronics. Describe the remote’s condition so repair can be considered where appropriate, rather than immediately ordering a complete replacement.
After total key loss, give the car’s precise location and whether it is locked. Travel is arranged once feasibility and access conditions have been checked. For a Caddy, Transporter or loaded vehicle, mention any parking constraints.
If the key has merely been left inside, recovering it through suitable opening assistance may be the right service. ID models and recent generations are considered individually: being named on this page does not promise compatibility with every configuration.

No spare left? Ask about mobile assistance at your vehicle.
Ask for suitable vehicle access assistance without replacing a key unnecessarily.
Worn buttons, a broken case or an intermittent remote: have your key checked.
The quote identifies the functions included. Mention boot controls and hands-free features you want to retain before preparation begins.
Have its reference checked first. A visually identical part may not match your Volkswagen’s electronics and equipment.
